Takeda returns to the Hamptons in "Identity", when he has a meeting with Daniel and learns of Aiden's recent risky investments. He goes to a bar with Aiden ,where he tells him that his emotions are getting in the way of Emily's revenge programme. Though he tells him to go back with him to Japan, Aiden tells how killing Trask, who killed his sis, left him without peace of heed as he thought he would feel. Because of this, he was reluctant to railroad train Emily Thorne due to her angry emotions and later claimed that she was assuasive her emotions to go in the way of her revenge schemes due to her relationship with Daniel Grayson. Another example of Takeda's ruthless and unfeeling nature was when he shot Tyler Barrol twice in the back, shortly after knocking out Daniel Grayson. Takeda was a martial arts teacher, training Emily to use hand to hand combat.

Takeda is often seen employing a Japanese-English translator, however he is in fact very capable of speaking and understanding English fluently - as a proof, in "Identity", he speaks to Daniel personally in English without a translator. Possibly, the translator is merely a mask to proceed his real intentions nether obscurity.
